Dona Hobart, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Dona Hobart earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency from Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa. Dr. Hobart was chief surgical resident at Lehigh Valley Hospital from 1997-1998.

A Westminster native, Dr. Hobart previously served on Robinwood Surgery Center’s board of directors, and served as the chairman of the Department of General Surgery at Washington County Hospital (now Meritus Medical Center).

Dr. Hobart is the medical director of the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and she is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Her practice interests include breast cancer, breast ultrasound and breast brachytherapy.

Sarah Lentz, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Sarah Lentz earned her medical degree from Dartmouth School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at Emory School of Medicine. She also earned a Master of Public Health degree from Yale School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health.

Dr. Lentz’s medical career includes serving in the United States Air Force as a general surgeon for four years. During that time she was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2003 and Iraq in 2006 She previously served as medical director of The Women’s Place at Carroll Hospital from 2007 to 2010 and chairman of surgery at Martinsville Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, Va.

Dr. Lentz is board certified by the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, American Society of Breast Surgeons and Patrick Henry Medical Society of Southern Virginia.

Dr. Lentz specializes in advanced laparoscopy, breast surgery and endocrine surgery. She also performs gallbladder surgeries, colonoscopies, hernia repairs and hemorrhoidectomies.

Jay Mittal, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Jay Mittal has close to a decade of experience. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, he received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Mittal’s interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, breast cancer surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, The Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

John A. Steers, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. John A. Steers earned his medical degree from The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and completed an internship and residency at University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. He was administrative chief resident in the Department of Surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Steers is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery. He is the medical director of minimally invasive general surgery at Carroll Hospital and is da Vinci trained for minimally invasive robotic surgery. Dr. Steers specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including colon and rectal; cancer; breast cancer; and thyroid and parathyroid.

Elayne Cohen, P.A.-C.

Physician assistant Elayne Cohen has more than a decade of health care experience as a critical care registered nurse and a physician assistant. She has a wide range of multi-specialty and minimally invasive surgical experience. She earned her Master of Health Sciences degree in physician assistant studies from the Duke University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in Durham, N.C., and her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and biology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. She also earned her Associate degree in nursing from Hillsborough Community College in Plant City, Fla.

Cohen is seeing patients with general surgeon John A. Streers, M.D., F.A.C.S., in Westminster-Billingslea Medical Building.

 

 


Lindsey Eckel, P.A.-C.

Physician assistant Lindsey Eckel has eight years of experience. She received her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies from the University of New England in Portland, Maine. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and health promotion at University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. In addition, Ms. Eckel completed a post-graduate surgical physician assistant residency through a joint program at Yale University School of Medicine and Norwalk Hospital, in New Haven and Norwalk, Connecticut.

 


Roxanna Nemec, P.A.-C.

Physician assistant Roxanna Nemec has more than 15 years of experience in surgical services. She graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Nemec assists with patients from office or emergency room visit to inpatient stay.

Laura Osborne, P.A.-C.

Physician assistant Laura Osborne has more than a decade of experience in surgical care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences and Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies from Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
