Child Abuse
Any person who has reason to believe a child has been subjected to abuse (physical or sexual
abuse) or neglect must make a report to the local office of Department of Social Services or law
enforcement as soon as possible. In Maryland, suspected abuse must be reported to the county
in which the abuse occurred. In case of an emergency, please dial 911.
Domestic Violence
If you believe you are in an abusive relationship or know someone who may be in an abusive
relationship with a current or former partner, call DOVE to speak with an advocate.

If an elderly or vulnerable person in your family or in your community is being abused,
neglected, or exploited, call 1-800-91-PREVENT (1-800-917-7383) immediately or the local
office of Department of Social Services
