Sinai Medication Information

You must tell your doctor or nurse about all your medications and the dosages for each. This includes prescription and over-the-counter drugs, dietary supplements (including vitamins) and herbal medicines. It is very important that your physician or nurse knows what you are taking as there can be a risk of complications when some drugs interact with certain other medications or treatments.Medication

For your safety, most of the medications you need will be provided by the inpatient pharmacy during your stay. On occasion, it may be appropriate for you to use medications from home, but only when specific requirements are met, including, but not limited to, approval from your physician. Please be sure to let your nurse know if you have medications from home in your possession.

Also, it is very important to tell your healthcare team about any allergies you have or adverse reactions you commonly experience.

When a member of your healthcare team enters your room to provide your medications, he or she will need to verify your identity by checking your identification bracelet. He or she will also ask you your name and date of birth.
